Welcome to one of the subtle points of KML. There are Placemarks. We can read time from those. They have icons, might be clicakable, have ballons, etc. There are polylines. They have none of those things. I processed it using "gpsbabel.exe -t -i kml -f log.kml-xnuketypes,waypoints -o gpx -F > log.gpx" but the resulting gpx file hadno <time> tags. Hmmm... You nuked the very component that held the timestamps, albeit in an inconvenient place. You probably want to use the 'type convert' filter to change the log.kml(the one that you rewrote to have the timestamp in the balloon moved into) to convert those waypoints (placemarks) into trackpoints. You might have to use additional options to resplit the tracks based on time or distance or such. In short, you're going to have to want this fairly badly... RJL |
