I did some timing tests and ended up reducing the ghashdraw.cpp buffer size to 64x64 (it was 128x128). Rendering is a tiny bit faster on Mac and Windows (only by about 1%) but significantly faster on Linux: about 5 to 40% faster, the latter at scale 1:16. I'm not sure how to explain such a big improvement -- perhaps wxGTK is not very efficient at clipping. Anyway, that was worth doing. Andrew |
