This is probably a dumb question, but so far I haven't been able to make any ports successfully on my G4 PB running 10.2.6, after installing everything (??) from the cdrom/dvdr set. The most common error is /bin/sh: -c line 2: syntax error: unexpected end of file For example, I run "make" in some directory under /usr/ports, and first is says "kern.osreldate: No such file or directory", and then it downloads the distfile, unpacks it, "darwinizes" it, and then bombs out, either on the above, or sometimes "make: cannot open makefile". Clearly, something is not right, but I haven't been able to get far enough into this to figure our what is going on. Any ideas? Greg Shenaut PS I installed the Apple developer's distrib *after* I put the opendarwin stuff on this machine--could some necessary files have been overwritten that way? |
