Right now, I'm updating the ports tree with changes to address problems like this one. You can read a little about the ports tree changes in the updated bootstrapping paper and ports status table. Just follow the links from the ports page. http://gnu-darwin.sourceforge.net/ports That seems to be off-line at this moment, sorry. The CVS update is going to take quite some time, so if you would like to fix this now, the first step is to change work/*/Makefile from this, all: libbz2.so.1 libbz2.a bzip2 bzip2recover test bzip2: libbz2.so.1 libbz2.a bzip2.o to this, all: libbz2.a bzip2 bzip2recover test bzip2: libbz2.a bzip2.o To install, you will also have to comment out the libbz2.so.1 lines from the arcivers/bzip2/Makefile. Hopefully, we will get this shared object situation sorted out soon. I should be able to give that problem some focus when the CVS import is finished. Finally, you can always just grab the bzip2 package ;-}. http://gnu-darwin.sourceforge.net/packages/pseudo/archivers Regards, proclus http://www.proclus-realm.com/ > When I do a make here's what happens (the dist file was already downloaded). > > [avatar:ports/archivers/bzip2] root# make > kern.osreldate: No such file or directory > ===> Extracting for bzip2-1.0.1 >> Checksum OK for bzip2-1.0.1.tar.gz. > ===> Patching for bzip2-1.0.1 > ===> Applying Darwin patches for bzip2-1.0.1 > ===> Configuring for bzip2-1.0.1 > ===> Building for bzip2-1.0.1 > > If compilation produces errors, or a large number of warnings, > please read README.COMPILATION.PROBLEMS -- you might be able to > adjust the flags in this Makefile to improve matters. > > cc -O -pipe -Wall -Winline -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-strength-reduce -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 > -fPIC -fpic -DPIC -c blocksort.c -o blocksort.so > blocksort.c: In function `fallbackSort': > blocksort.c:376: internal error--unrecognizable insn: > (insn 25 24 26 (set (reg:SI 3 r3) > (const:SI (plus:SI (symbol_ref:SI ("__sF")) > (const_int 176 [0xb0])))) -1 (nil) > (expr_list:REG_EQUAL (const:SI (plus:SI (symbol_ref:SI ("__sF")) > (const_int 176 [0xb0]))) > (nil))) > {standard input}:304:FATAL:.abort detected.
