Category: GUI Group: normal Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 1 Submitted By: Michael Schwendt (mschwendt) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: First-time users, About GLAME dialog hides other dialogs Initial Comment: Minor usability issue: $ rm -rf ~/.glame* $ glame For first-time users of GLAME, the big and fat "About GLAME" dialog is in front of the first-time configuration dialog and cannot be closed or minimised. Users cannot change focus. Users need to move it away in order to see and access the configuration dialog. Where a feature like "focus follows mouse" is used, this can result in the first-time "Information" dialog disappearing behind the "About GLAME" dialog, too, where users must search for it, before they would be able to continue. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Richard Guenther (richi) Date: 2005-07-22 09:08 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=7575 In general, the patch is fine. But please, zero the splash variable after the gtk_object_destroy and check for it being already zero at the point of the second gtk_object_destroy further down. Else we will be caught by gtk checking. Thanks, Richard. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: laurent (ochonpaul) Date: 2005-07-21 20:23 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=122629 This patch solves the problem (i can commit if Richie is ok and not in holidays ) Laurent Index: src/gui/main.c =================================================================== RCS file: /cvsroot/glame/glame/src/gui/main.c,v retrieving revision 1.134 diff -r1.134 main.c 842a843 > gtk_object_destroy(GTK_OBJECT(splash)); ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=101627&aid=1240308&group_id=1627 |
