If you press the Save button in the aliases tab, all the current aliases will be saved. So if you just don't save them, there shouldn't be a problem. :-) Also, if you need to remove an alias, you can use the #unalias command. So one possibility would be to create, for each of your alias files, a second file with the corresponding unalias commands. Then to switch sets you would read the file that unaliases the current set followed by the file for the new set. If you wanted more automation than that, you would probably need to create a Lua script that reads in all your alias sets and then manages loading and unloading them for you. -Ian |

Ian, Would that be just like entering the aliases using the #alias command where they save? What it is i'm trying to do is be able to load one set of aliases for say my thief, then next time i play, if i was to play my monk, i could load a completely different set of aliases. I only want the aliases to be there as long as that session last. ----- Original Message ---- From: Ian Kelly <ian...@gm...> To: GGmud List <ggm...@li...> Sent: Thursday, July 12, 2007 10:53:25 AM Subject: Re: [Ggmud-general] Problems with scripts... Christopher, The file you've created is a tintin command file, not a lua script. Use #read rather than #script to load it. Lua ignores the first line of a file if it starts with the # character, which is the only reason you didn't get an error message in this case -- it just ran an empty script. -Ian On 7/12/07, Christopher Clark <dem...@ya...> wrote: > > Ok, i had sent a message before about having seperate sets of aliases and > triggers for seperate characters. Ok, i had sent a message before about having seperate sets of aliases and triggers for seperate characters. Gabry told me that i could do this by making files containing the aliases and triggers, and calling them with the script command. so, this is what i did i made a file called etzinaliases.lua in that file i put #alias {saytest} {say test} i saved the file, and then opened ggmud and ran the command #script /Users/demawno/Desktop/GGMud.app/Contents/Resources/etzinalias.lua i didn't get any messages after running it i then typed saytest to activate the alias only the alias wasn't there.... i don't know if i'm doing something wrong... someone help me please :) i'd much appreciate it. thanks in advance. Christopher -Ivilis- Clark p.s. anyone got a mac osx binary of the latest version???? ____________________________________________________________________________________ Choose the right car based on your needs. I haven't tried out any of the new features except the MCCP yet, but I keep getting an error dialog that says "readmud: read one line longer than BUFFERSIZE" On 10/27/06, Gabriele Greco <gab...@gm...> wrote: > I've just completed the feature set of the 0.6 version of GGMud. > > This version contains the following major features: > > - MCCP support (mud compression protocol, both version 1 & 2) > - Socks proxy support (both version 4 & 5, also with user/pwd > authentication) > - Macro editor (now you can assign a macro to every keybind and not only the > Fx keys) > - Online manual (still not complete) at > http://ggmud.sourceforge.net/doc > - Major interface revamps (rewritten and improved preferences, wizard, macro > forms, more coming). > > The sources are already available in CVS, if someone wants a binary (linux, > win32 or osx) please ask me through e-mail and I'll send it directly, > actually I don't want to make a sourceforge release until I get this tested > for at least a pair of weeks. > > -- > Bye, > Gabry > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Using Tomcat but need to do more? I've just completed the feature set of the 0.6 version of GGMud. This version contains the following major features: - MCCP support (mud compression protocol, both version 1 & 2) - Socks proxy support (both version 4 & 5, also with user/pwd authentication) - Macro editor (now you can assign a macro to every keybind and not only the Fx keys) - Online manual (still not complete) at http://ggmud.sourceforge.net/doc - Major interface revamps (rewritten and improved preferences, wizard, macro forms, more coming). The sources are already available in CVS, if someone wants a binary (linux, win32 or osx) please ask me through e-mail and I'll send it directly, actually I don't want to make a sourceforge release until I get this tested for at least a pair of weeks. -- Bye, Gabry |

> ok, just a couple of questions. > first, is it possible to have a seperate set of > triggers and aliases for each character i play. At the moment you can do it only if you edit your aliases/triggers by hand and you load the set with the #script command: Example: File: mage.cmd #alias {dis} {cast 'disint' %1} #alias {p} {cast 'portal' %1} #action {black globe around your body fade} {cast 'darkness' me} File: warrior.cmd #alias {b} {bash %1} #action {You fall} {stand} ... and then in the usual alias panel you have something like: #alias warrior {#script /path/to/warrior.cmd} #alias mage {#script /path/to/warrior.cmd} second, is it possible to have two instances of ggmud > up and running at the same time? Yes, simply run two times ggmud. -- Bye, Gabry |

I'm writing a manual explaining all this stuff, it will be released as html in the website and with the 0.5.1 version soon. -- Bye, Gabry |
