Hello, I have a vfat filesystem mounted on /mnt. If I change to that directory and try to execute any file (using "Right Arrow" when focus is on file), gentoo freezes, and repeatedly prints out the following message (if it is run from a terminal emulator): GLib-WARNING **: g_main_iterate(): main loop already active in another thread Seems like a bug (also, though gentoo is supposed to show a different icon for Window's executables than for linux executables, it doesn't do it - it just uses the same icon for all executables, even those having .exe extension). Another thing: when a usual binary file is executed from gentoo, some just run as though you invoked them without arguments, as they should, but others do strange things: for example, if I run gentoo from a terminal emulator (in order to be able to see commands' output) and then execute 'bash' from withing gentoo - the first execution spawns a new bash session on a terminal emulator from which gentoo was ran. Executing bash for the second time puts gentoo into background, and does something strange with input of xterm: every time you press a button (when focus is on xterm), you get a message from bash: "bash: command not found". In order to resolve this, you have to exit the current bash session (C^D) and then put gentoo back into foreground. Why does bash behaves so strangely? And the last question: sometimes, when you execute a pipe, gentoo does nothing, but sometimes it hangs: for example, in /dev I have a pipe called 'xconsole' - executing it does nothing, but executing 'gmpdata' pipe stops gentoo from responding (hangs it). Why is that so? ddtl. |
