You'll get far faster performance, and less overhead if you use
fixed-size memory pools.  Why are you using a generic allocator anyways
on consoles?!

Does anybody know how efficient (in terms of both performance and
fragmentation)
is the default PS2 memory manager. I've heard that it is far better than
PS1 but I wasn't given any detail.
