Have to agree with Gary here. While we don't gamma correct art that artists make themselves, we do gamma correct algorithmic stuff. Like gamma correcting mipmaps made a nice subtle difference in our scenes. In fact, much more of a difference than any of the advanced waveform fitting type algorithms for mipmapping ever did. Lighting, obviously, should be gamma corrected as well where appropriate. Unfortnately, ramping the gamma up to 1.7 to get things more linear still isn't an option yet for nasty banding reasons.
