Isnt a vertex moving sphere intersection the same as a Line-sphere
intersection?
Where the sphere has the centerpoint of the vertex and the line is the line
among the swept sphere is moving.
You can find robust code for Line-Sphere intersection all over the place
(eg. www.magic-software.com/)
