Some advanced (?) stencil shadow questions : 1. Is it possible to not self-shadow? It seems to me that stencil shadows inherently apply to all, which makes this difficult, but it would seem to eliminate lots of complications. 2. Is it possible to give stencil shadows varying intensity? Eg. near light A, you cast a 30% darkening shadow, near light B, 60% ; it seems to me that the fast way to do stencil results in a uniform darkening (due to one big poly drawn on top of everything). I think #2 is pretty critical to having multiple light-sources, so that you can transition your shadows between them. If you don't have #2, then you can basically only have a single set of shadowing lights (either all or one probably) all the time. ------------------------------------------------------- Charles Bloom cb...@cb... http://www.cbloom.com |
