No I'm running on Win2k and it's single threaded. Something I did notice was that some Direct X 8 examples also behaves badly. It was the "Billboard" and the "Point sprites" examples. They work perfectly when they are running in a small window but if I resize the window to my screen resolution (1600x1200) then they become very jerky. The smaller the window the better they behaved.=20 On another machine with the exact same setup this didn't happen. The only time it did was when he moved his mouse to some icons on task bar. This points of course to some hiden background task or other such thing but what I don't get is why no other game behaves like this. I suspect they go into a form of exclusive mode. Even when they run in window mode. So now the question is. If this is the case than I suspect you've run into Win98's 'spiky' threading problem (Doesn't occur under NT/2000 OS's). Warrick. |
