Hi Miklos, I can notice something which is much of a concern with regards to performance of fuse mounted filesystem. I copied a single file using DOS prompt from Windows machine to a fuse-mounted directory which had around 4000 files. The fuse mount we accessed in Windows was through CIFS share. To my surprise, we saw struct fuse_operations::readdir getting called, and in turn this means fetching the info for all 4000 files, just for the sake of copying one file !!!! This unfortunately means, more the files, slower the performance However, this does not happen if we copy the file from a Linux box, or through Linux CIFS to fuse mount. We are using fuse-3.0. Can you help me to know, why it behaves like this? Are we missing something? Thanks. kingsmasher1 -- View this message in context: http://fuse.996288.n3.nabble.com/Issue-with-windows-DOS-copy-command-to-a-fuse-mount-directory-through-CIFS-tp12314.html Sent from the Fuse mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |
