Well, I got that idea from one of the ports of fuse to Windows, I am not able to find that now. But on that an additional option was appended to the options passed to fuse_main() which basically ensured that the file system in question didn't support creation of thumbnails. One windows Explorer only icons of the files and directories of that file system were displayed.
