No idea. I haven't looked at inotify in conjunction with these notification functions. That said, I imagine that the necessary changes would be in the kernel only. Perhaps the notify functions that I've contributed would be involved. Maybe someday I'll look at this - other priorities are keeping me away from this (I have yet to officially submit the 'notify of deletion' patch due to lack of time).
