I noticed this on freshmeat today: http://pylirc.sourceforge.net/ It's a Python module for lirc written in C; it may potentially be faster than the current reading from device implementation, so I thought it might be worth looking into, since the speed of the remote response is one of the "known bugs" we have right now. Looks fairly straightforward, and if it does in fact provide a speed boost, could be a big help. Aubin |
