Whatever the "freeglut" license is, > it is definitely not LGPL. Yes - we definitely cannot accept LGPL'ed code. We use the Xfree86 license. In fact, it would be impossible to link the LGPL'ed code with freeglut because the LGPL license says that anything you compile with it is 'infected' by the LGPL - and he can't relicense freeglut under LGPL. If he gives away his code then anyone whom he gives it to is unable to use it without breaking the terms of his licence to them for these four files. Whilst I personally don't have a problem with LGPL per-se, we'd like for freeglut to eventually ship with Mesa and Xfree (or whatever it's called these days) - so the Xfree license is non-negotiable. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The second law of Frisbee throwing states: "Never precede any maneuver by a comment more predictive than "Watch this!"...it turns out that this also applies to writing Fragment Shaders. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Steve Baker (817)619-2657 (Vox/Vox-Mail) L3Com/Link Simulation & Training (817)619-2466 (Fax) Work: sj...@li... http://www.link.com Home: sjb...@ai... http://www.sjbaker.org |
