If I may say, I wish you (and Mike Harris) had spoken up about the version issue when we first raised it. Steve Baker first suggested 2.0.0 on June 19, almost two weeks ago. It was in my list of issues on the 23rd and I mentioned it again on the 25th. Steve put out what we call a "Command Decision" in an e-mail time-stamped 4:46 on the 25th. It's a little late in the game now to be saying "Why are you doing this." What sort of rewrites do you have the urge to do? John F. The menus need redoing, there are still serious problems with the way some of the internals work which cause odd failures of existing code, the code could do with a good clean and we still have not tackled the big problem with the original glut. That problem was not the main loop thing but keyboard input. 2.0.0 should be for when we really have something different. Unless we are aiming to get ahead of GLUT's 3.7 for our first stable release. And the reason why I've not done anything for ages is because every time I look at the code I get this overwhelming urge to reorganise the code and rewrite great chunks of it. I did start doing that once but it just seemed like to much tedious work thay may never have been used even if finished after many hours of work. -- Christopher John Purnell | I thought I'd found a reason to live http://www.lost.org.uk/ | Just like before when I was a child --------------------------| Only to find that dreams made of sand What gods do you pray to? | Would just fall apart and slip through my hands ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: Free pre-built ASP.NET sites including Data Reports, E-commerce, Portals, and Forums are available now.
