Just to let you know I manage to do this with the latest 2_6_0_RC3.
My command line was:
./configure --disable-warnings --disable-shared --enable-static CPPFLAGS=-I/usr/X11/include -L/usr/X11/lib LDFLAGS=-I/usr/X11/include -L/usr/X11/lib -framework GLUT

Also if you get a window appearing but all you see is a white screen make sure -framework GLUT is at the end of all your LDFLAGS.. dont ask me why ...
