After upgrading to Yosemite, Wine and FontForge wouldn’t work. I updated Xcode, and updated and cleaned Homebrew. Wine apps work now, but not FontForge. I downloaded the newest version of FontForge from here: https://fontforge.github.io/en-US/downloads/mac/ <https://fontforge.github.io/en-US/downloads/mac/> When I run the app X11 opens, after a moment I see the FontForge splash screen, & the FontForge icon starts bouncing in the dock. The splash screen goes away, & after a few minutes the icon stops bouncing but nothing else happens, not even an X11 terminal window opens. If I right click the X11 icon in the dock I see that it is running Untitled1.sfd (ISO8859-1) but there’s no window open on the desktop. If I try this with the X11 preferences set to full screen, I get a solid black screen and nothing else. I got frustrated and decided to Homebrew FontForge using : brew install python gettext libpng jpeg libtiff giflib cairo pango libspiro czmq fontconfig automake libtool pkg-config glib pango brew install -v --debug fontforge --HEAD --with-giflib --with-x11 --with-libspiro but I have problems with that as well. When I run the command fontforge all I get is this: bash-3.2$ fontforge Copyright (c) 2000-2012 by George Williams. Executable based on sources from 14:57 GMT 31-Jul-2012-D.
