Is there a way to coax Fontforge into importing only the non-white pixels of a bitmap image? I use GIMP to remove pixels surrounding the glyph I want to import. It takes a little practice and the greater the contrast between the glyph and the background the easier it is to remove the background. Use the magic wand tool in GIMP for background removal and fine-tune its sensitivity with the threshold adjustment. If after background removal the glyph is not a solid color, select it with the magic wand and make it a solid color by choosing Edit/Fill with FG color; which by default is black but can be changed to any other color. Save as a PNG file and import to FontForge. I'm not sure what may be causing your re-sizing problem. I convert my PNG files to a PS file and import the PS; no need for autotrace which caused problems on my Mac. The only suggestion I have is to make sure the image files (the PNG in this case) you import all have the same overall pixel dimensions, regardless of the size of the glyph image you are importing. -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/Importing-bitmap-images-without-%27resizing%27-tp27984006p27990472.html Sent from the Fontforge - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |
