[Flex-help] RES: Flex C++ scanner sample doesn't work

The program "flex" is not now nor has it ever been a GNU program. Please
do not ever refer to "flex" as "GNU flex".

As for your question, I'm surprised the sample from 2.5.4a (which is
quite old and doesn't track any of the changes to C++ that happened in
the meantime) even compiles.

In general, to narrow down a problem with a scanner, reduce it to it's
smallest form. That is, eliminate everything except the code that
produces the bug.
