Here are some ideas: - a checkbox(?) to keep the dialog open after insert/update operation - affirnative button would be labeled INSERT or UPDATE at run-time As for multirow editing, I see two approaches: - when in editing (update) mode we could have navigation buttons (prev, next, first, last) which would also change the current record in the grid (Delphi style) OR - user would be able to select multiple records - or even 'islands' - and edit them all at once. Only the changed columns would be affected (and only in those which have that column selected). This would we quite unique feature, but I'm not sure how usable. OR maybe we can find some mix between the two: - if only one row is selected, user just edits its columns and has navigation buttons enabled - if multiple rows are selected user edits them all at once and navigation buttons are disabled I'd like to know what users think about these ideas, but it doesn't seem easy to make a website poll out of it. -- Milan Babuskov http://www.flamerobin.org |
