Hi, I'm new to firestarter and seem to be having a problem. I have a redhat 8 linux machine (with eth0 & eth1), a windows XP machine and a cable modem. I connected them together as the NAT manual page suggest. However, I could only ping from the XP PC to eth1. I coulnt ping the internet or the XP PC from the linux machine. I discovered that I didnt have eth0 set to DHCP so i fixed that and rebooted (so my cable modem could get the mac address etc etc). I then started getting the martian error along the lines of: MARTIAN SOURCE 80.0.189.2 on dev eth0 11 Header ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:00:04:96:ee:24:70:08:06 This happened about 20 times at least and then tried to start GNOME. After signing in, I got an error saying: "Could not look up internet address for [cable box name]" Does anyone know what this means ? I new to Linux and Firestarter and completely lost to be honest. Thanks, Nathan __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Everything you'll ever need on one web page from News and Sport to Email and Music Charts http://uk.my.yahoo.com |
