Well, I'm using a 2.2.20 kernel (ipchains), but I dont think there is any difference between ipchains and iptables here. I have been using Squid already, but I don't know if it can block referrer information. The issue is that I want a minimum of servers on this firewall, a minimum of "holes" and a minimum of information going out. I am really trying to put up a "zen" and invisible system. I was just thinking of a command to add in the firewall script to do this. > As a side question, why is blocking referrer information important to > you? Yes, I know that a lot of web sites are using such information for statistics and so on. For me it's mainly a privacy issue. I want to give away as little information as possible while surfing, and I even think that this is a good principle...
