I do not know Ubuntu exactly, but as it is based on debian you probably have the following file installed? /etc/init.d/firestarter You should create a symlink to /etc/rcS.d/ (as root; or on ubuntu via sudo) if it does not yet exist: sudo (cd /etc/rcS.d; ln -s ../init.d/firestarter S65firestarter) S65 does define the start order. 65 is used here on debian/sid. This only does work if the internet connection is set up at boot time. If this is not the case because you have "dialing" on demand (starting the connection manually) you need to put a start script elsewhere. Here on debian/sid the file /etc/ppp/ip-up.d/50firestarter does exist that contains the following lines: #! /bin/sh /etc/init.d/firestarter restart The script has to be executable for root. (-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root) If you also do not use the pppd but some other mechanism (are there any?) you could try to put the file into /etc/network/if-up.d/ I hope this does help (and everything I wrote is correct) Gert |
