I filed the bug at: =20 https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/firestarter/+bug/59647 =20 and at: =20 http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3D355791 =20 I agree with you. Ubuntu is now one of (if not the) top Linux distro. The b= ulk of the users are not technical experts. It is aboundently clear from th= e forums that the Ubuntu community believes the firewall established throug= h Firestarter is persistent through reboots. Comments like the following ab= ound in the forums: =20 Firestarter is basically a front end for the built in firewall in linux cal= led iptables. You dont need to run firestarter to have it block things. But= if you wanna see what its blocking, you have to have it open. ---- Why do you want to run firestarter on startup? Do you want to configure you= r firewall every time you log on? ... Firestarter is just a GUI to configur= e the already built-in and running firewall. Thanks! - you just enlightened me - I didn't know that the firewall was al= ready running! - so - I don't need to run firestarter at every startup. ---= - =20 if the firewall is not persistent then it is a disaster waiting to happen f= or some poor unsuspecting users. Maybe its just I and a few other users tha= t have some pecularities in our configurations. I would be interested to kn= ow if other Ubuntu or Debian users can reproduce the behaviour. =20 > Date: Tue, 26 Sep 2006 12:28:29 -0400> From: bri...@gm...> To: f= ire...@li...> Subject: Re: [Firestarter-user] Fire= wall not persistent> > On 26/09/06, Anthony Campbell <ac...@ac...> = wrote:> > On 26 Sep 2006, J.O.
