The firewall is to be activated at the same time as the network, not before. This is because the IP addresses of _all_ the network interfaces are needed for the ruleset. It would be possible to work out a new set for only single interface machines that didn't have this restriction, but it's not something I'm interested in. It's just a way to quickly spot the interesting (someone trying to SSH to your machine) from the mundane (some crappy ad web server hitting your high ports, broadcasts etc.). Regards, Tomas |
