John, If I understand correctly, your application can read the data from tables with no issues whatsoever, but when you try to insert rows into tables it fails? hat about the UPDATE or DELETE? I have found some references to the message you are getting on the net, most common explanation is: Your connection string is malformed (perhaps you mixed up the Provider and Driver keywords?). Have you tried linking the FireBird database to MS Access and modifying tables there through UI or queries and see if that works? If it does, get a copy of connection string used there. Have you tried without localhost: bit in the data source name (just for the sake of troubleshooting)? Is this an ASP application or standard winapp?
