Does this mean that Firebird can't say "provides native support for Interbase databases" or "provides support for Interbase API"? I guess we will have to come up with a toned down product description (which would be packaged with the Debian release), which would then invite users go to the Firebird site "for more information". That way we make the Debian guy happy and get a broader release. The product description/feature set would be very strong on it's own, even without mentioning IB. At the same time, the Firebird web site can be more liberal in it's language and references (of course, acknowledging the Interbase trademark). How does Microsoft and others get away with product comparisons in their market bs? I can't see Larry Elison @ Oracle giving Microsoft permission to kick him in the shins with a Oracle/SQL Server comparison! To help this guy in his dilemma, why can't he say "We don't have Interbase but have a look at Firebird" or "We don't have InterBase but we do have Firebird, you can go to their web site"? Bottom line, let's get this guy hooked! Sean -----Original Message----- From: Ann W. Harrison [mailto:aha...@ib...] Sent: Tuesday, February 27, 2001 1:10 PM To: fir...@li...
