(All machines are Windows 98) I have the InterBase server on SERVER1 = from a long time ago. I recently installed the Firebird server on THINK6 = over top of a previous installation of Firebird from early December. Today I tried to install Firebird server on ATEC1. As noted elsewhere, I = had to manually transfer registry entries for Borland/InterBase from = THINK6 to ATEC1. Now I can run the server and I can run IbConsole and use "local server" = to contact my database and see the data. But when I try to use TCP/IP I = cannot reach my database. Neither can I contact any other server from = ATEC1. When I use isql and TCP/IP to reach any server from client ATEC1 = I get: SQL> connect 'server1:D:\database\oop.gdb' ; Statement failed, SQLCODE =3D -902 Unable to complete network request to host "server1". -Failed to locate host machine. -Undefined service gds_db/tcp. When I use isql to try to connect to a database on ATEC1 I get these = messages: SQL> connect 'ATEC1:D:\database\oop.gdb' ; Statement failed, SQLCODE =3D -902 Unable to complete network request to host "ATEC1". -Failed to establish a connection. -unknown Win32 error 10061 So what is broken (besides, obviously, the install)? |
