Hi Ernesto, > I am back, with a new job and new house and new doughter... Congratulations! I'm so lucky to have a few daughters too, so I guess I know how great you must feel. > I see in the posts that you are working on converting Using > Firebird, is that right? They've already been converted to DocBook XML. Now they have to be corrected where necessary, updated to Firebird 2.0 (and possibly also cover the 1.5 versions), and some sections have to be rewritten for reasons having to do with copyrights. > Could I help with that? I'm not English native speaker but I can > format or whatever is needed. As long as you can read and understand it well, you can certainly help updating some chapters. Someone else will have to fix the English later. > Where can i find the docs? http://www.firebirdsql.org/devel/doc/usingfirebird/xml_ready/ Chapters already taken are about-firebird, client-server, using-isql and designing-databases. But - we're not going to include all the chapters in the updated Using Firebird book. It's simply too big, and we also want to publish as soon as possible. So we need to decide which chapters are really essential, and concentrate on those first. If they are finished we can put up the book on the website and tell the world. The other chapters will be published later as separate articles and/or in other books (maybe an Advanced Topics guide), or... <whatever> Greetings, Paul Vinkenoog |
