Hi all, I've put up a copy of the Public Documentation License (with a very short introduction) here: http://www.firebirdsql.org/pdfmanual/pdl.pdf Within a couple of days I will also revise the section in the Docwriting Howto that deals with licensing, and provide clear instructions on how to include the License and/or the License Notice in your own docs. The DocBook source of the abovementioned PDF will also be included in our CVS tree. I'll contact Marcelo Lopez Ruiz and Brenden Walker and ask if they agree to (re)publish their contributions under the PDL. As for the Quick Start Guides, which IBPhoenix donated to the project, Helen once said that they were to be released under the IDPL, but they don't contain a license notice yet. Helen: given the fact that the PDL is basically the same as the IDPL, but better suited for docs (no talk of "executable versions", "original code" etc.) - would IBPhoenix agree to use the PDL for the QSGs and future contributions, or do you still prefer the IDPL? In either case I'll take care of the license notices soon. Greetings, Paul Vinkenoog |
