I've attached an updated package for ncview (section sci), bringing it up to the latest version, 2.1.4, which was released on 13 Nov. It builds with "-m --build-as-nobody", and the dpkg -L is identical to the previous versions:

I have tested on OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) only, but I don't see why it shouldn't work on earlier versions. As suggested by Hanspeter Niederstrasser, I have removed the dependency to hdf5.8 (it is required by netcdf, but not used directly by ncview).
