Update from 1.70 to 1.82 with minimal patches to make it build and pass validation; gave this a try as it has fallen maintainerless. Perhaps someone could test on case-insensitive HFS+.
The patch file adds #include <sys/types.h>, and there's a perl pie in PatchScript that does the same thing. One of the two should go (I don't think the perl pie is actually doing what it thinks it's doing, but please check).
Looks fine otherwise I think.

Sorry, I had lost track of this myself; thanks for the update!
I have merged the fixes for case-sensitive files from the previous info file (some preset configurations will be overwritten otherwise); there also was an issue with program_invocation_name, but I could no longer reproduce it - had just updated to Yosemite. Gnu documentation lists this as missing only on Mac OS 10.5, but I'm not sure about 10.7/10.8, so left the patch in for now. It doesn't seem to change anything for 10.9+10.10.

AKH just updated nightfall to 1.86 in CVS. Assigning this item to AKH.
Whoops, totally forgot to check for tracker items. Care take over as maintainer for 1.86?

Done. I guess this fell off the radar because the status didn't get reset to "awaiting validation". Better late than never ;-)
