Hi there, while wading through the website code, I noticed all kinds of oddities and quirks. Here are a few questions about some of them. Any insights on this would be appreciated. Q: Are there any tools that verify whether a translated web page / XML is in sync across the various versions? Background: Lots of our web pages are not in sync. E.g. the english download section gives upgrade instructions for 10.6 and 10.7. The localized versions *instead* give instructions for 10.1-10.3. Ouch. I worked around this manually for now, but I wonder what to do... Q: Is there still an active translation team I can ping about this and other outdated places? Or should I just start deleting completely outdated translations? E.g. translations of <http://www.finkproject.org/download/upgrade.php> are so heavily outdated that it seems better to delete (or at least disable) them until they are fixed. Q: Anybody know why this code is in web/header.inc: if (!isset($expires)) { # by default, expire in 1 hour $expires = 60 * 60; } ... if (isset($_REQUEST['phpLang'])) { header("Expires: " . gmdate("D, d M Y H:i:s", time() + $expires) . " GMT"); } Note: TO the best of my knowledge, no other code sets $expires, so the default 1 hour is always used. But why do we add this Expires: header at all? Cheers, Max |
