I am trying to download svn via: fink install svn and there are some dependencies that need to be loaded. One of them is the libgettext3-dev. Here's where it gets funk. I used the "list" command and it shows that I have libgettext8-dev. When I run the command to install svn, it says that it needs to load libgettext3-dev, I tell it yes. Then, I get an error message saying it cannot resolve the conflict with libgettext8-dev and libgettext3-dev. Then it tells me that I have libgettext3-dev installed. It suggest the following three options: fink scanpackages sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install libgettext3-dev=0.14.5-2 So, I try all of them and then try the whole process again, starting with fink install svn. Still getting the same issue. I tried fink list and it shows that I don't have libgettext3-dev installed. WAIT! I thought it said I did? Anyway, I tried removing libgettext8-dev, and then installing libgettext3-dev. Everything seemed to work fine. Now, I tried installing svn, this time instead of saying that libgettext3-dev is a dependency that needs to install, it says libgettext8-dev needs to install. So, I select yes. Again, the same error. I can't seem to with with this one. And fink list still shows that I don't have libgettext3-dev installed. I am really confused and in need of some help. Peter |
