No, the new Fink xmkmf package is specifically meant for the new xquartz update whose developers have decided to remove xmkmf in order to perhaps save one or two Apple engineer hours in the future, at the cost of hundreds of Fink developer hours and many frustrated Fink and other Mac users. You can read about this in the archives of the Apple x11-users mailing list. Anyway, the new Fink xmkmf package hides itself in /sw/lib/xmkmf, so that in order to use it, a Fink package needs to set some environment variables in its CompileScript. Some packages need export PATH=%p/lib/xmkmf/bin:$PATH export IMAKEINCLUDE=-I%p/lib/X11/config but this has to be checked with every package, especially with the kde packages which use their own version of autotools and make. -- Martin |
