To use Fink Commander to install wireshark:

0)  Install the Xcode Tools, (version 2.4.1) if you haven't already done so.
1)  Check if wireshark is listed for you in the available packages.
2)  If not, then you need to update the list of available packages via 
"Source -> selfupdate-rsync".  You might also need to update the table 
manually (no Mac here, so you'll just need to look through the menu options)
3)  Once wireshark is listed as available, select it, and then run 
"Source->install"
