Thats how fink works. the "libpng" and "libpng3" packages contain the headers, and the symbolic link to the appropriate version of libpng. the "libpng-shlibs" and "libpng3-shlibs" packages contain the actual libraries themselves. When a package wants to compile against the 3 version, libpng3 is installed and the package links against that version. IIRC the two are actually source compatible, so all packages should get updated to use libpng3 eventually... -Ben |
