I installed only ffdshow and none of the divx codecs. I
have also installed xvid but did not configure ffdshow to
handle xvid.
Whenever I try to play an *.avi file encoded with divx,
there is a transparent green colored layer that covers the
entire video. It lasts for the entire length of the video as
well.
Running win2k, sp2.

giday... it looks like I had the same problem.. Im running
win2k and I have xvid and divx installed..I had the transparent
green layer on movies too.. and it went really slow..while
playing back divx movies.. it only happend on a few divx
movies.. I fixed it by.. putting the colour from 16 to 32 bit in
my display settings in windows.. works great now. ;)

Hello!
I'm have some problem. Only in ffdshow20030103 in any
combination of other codecs. I think, putting the colour from
16 to 32 bit - is not correct fixation of problem, if you have
any slow computer, i'm now use older version...
Bug... :-(((
