This project is a collection of ports to MS-Windows of GNU and Unix software packages, which either don't have precompiled Windows binaries available, or whose existing ports are buggy or broken.
All the ports are built using the MinGW development environment, with or without MSYS.

  • Thank you very much eli-zaretskii for all the effort you put into this project, not just GAWK, all of the collection of ports to Windows. My upgrade to Gawk 5.2.0 took only a few minutes and tests perfectly against my critical tests. The external dll's still work fine, so nothing additional was required. I am trying to make a transition to more Unix-based software and your ezwinports eases the way. Kudos!
  • I need this for GNU make. Works like a charm, faster than MSYS and much faster than Cygwin. I have only one issue with it: colorized output is totally not working from make with $(info), and color tags are often broken when multiple threads write colorized output into the same console. And it's not possible to ask questions / report issues as tickets cannot be created.
  • Just what I was looking for, thank you! Note that the libgcc DLL is not easy to find. I found it in osdn.net/projects/mingw/releases as provided by the author, but there's more to be done from that page... so, show "LibGCC-1.DLL (32-Bit GCC-9.2.0) " then, download libgcc-9.2.0-3-mingw32-dll-1.tar.xz, use 7-zip or equivalent to open the downloaded file, click thru the tar file into the bin/ directory and libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll is the libgcc DLL that your tool will need (in my case, gawk).
  • Just installed GNU Make. Thanks! :)
  • Thanks Eli!
