#236 Installation problem! :( Uninitialized string offset: 1

i have install
PHP 5.1.4
MySql 5.0.21
exponent Both 0.96.5-RC1 and 0.96.3 tryed

in 0.96.5-RC1

i get

line 22
None of the installed Exponent Database Backends will
work with this server's version of PHP.

in my browser when i try to access it?!?

so i do not even get the installation menu...

any sugestion?!? :( pllzzz

PHP 5.1 is not supported. Try downgrading to php 4.
