Happy new year to all. I just submitted all the changes I made during the Christmas holidays. * eXist now passes 92% of the XQuery use-cases (according to the bumblebee test harness). Many bugs and irregularities have been fixed. The remaining 8% are mostly minor problems (formatting of floating point numbers). 2 use-cases fail due to missing features. * Added support for XQuery library modules. New modules can be provided in XQuery _or_ Java (see updated documentation) * Added Java bindings to XQuery (following the conventions introduced by xt and saxon). * The XQuery engine now properly resolves forward references in function declarations. * New XQueryServlet which works similar to the XQueryGenerator, but doesn't depend on Cocoon. * New functions in the HTTP module: create-session, encode-url, request-uri, redirect-to. * New transform function to apply a (cached) XSL stylesheet to XQuery output. * Most parts of the documentation have been updated. * New examples for XQuery development. * Modified XML-RPC interface: the optional output properties (for indentation, xinclude expansion, output encoding ...) have been moved to a single hashtable argument in all methods. Some of the old methods are still provided, but should not be used any longer. The namespaces argument introduced in some methods has been removed (namespaces can be specified with XQuery's "declare namespace" in the query). * The provided Perl and Java examples for XMLRPC access have been tested to work with the current interface. I will try to finish the docs and fix some of the remaining bugs within the next days. Best wishes, Wolfgang |
