I guess that is what I want yes. I've seen how to load a syntax in Java, generate a parser and then request to validate a given string and finally return the parsed tree. No idea where to start in exist-db. I believe there's ANTLR somewhere but can you reach that with pure xquery or does require calling Java from xquery?
