Hi All, I have been using Consistency tool many times on different Windows OS, but never on Apple OS X (Mountain Lion) I am still using older exist 1.4.1 rev 13755 ... I know, I know ... it's time to upgrade!!! Running it from terminal window opens the 'Consistency Check and repair' tool ... no problem there! However, when I tried to CHECK the DB consistency, this is where it fails immediately throwing the following message: "Could not start the database instance. Please remember that this tool tried to launch an embedded db instance. No other db instance should be running on the same data" Before running the Consistency tool, I shutdown db instance plus I shutdown the tomcat! I am sure it is something Mac (linux) related ... but I can't tell what! This is the error message from the console: ERROR: Failed to open database: database instance 'exist' is not available org.exist.EXistException: database instance 'exist' is not available at org.exist.storage.BrokerPool.getInstance(BrokerPool.java:291) at org.exist.storage.BrokerPool.getInstance(BrokerPool.java:276) at org.exist.backup.ExportGUI.startDB(ExportGUI.java:75) at org.exist.backup.ExportGUI.exportDB(ExportGUI.java:363) at org.exist.backup.ExportGUI.access$1100(ExportGUI.java:34) at org.exist.backup.ExportGUI$8.run(ExportGUI.java:308) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:680) ------------------------------------ Starting tomcat and launching java DB Admin tool is fine! DB runs OK too ... Puzzled! Please help! THANKS a lot!!! Regards, Sava |
