Matteo, If you are updating the xml via xquery (ie: xmldb:store()) it will not add the dtd information. ( I have heard that this is because technically the DTD declaration is not part of the xquery spec.) If you want the system to store everything in the document, POST/PUT the document using rest, or use java.
