Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Martin Holmes (martindholmes) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: XInclude processing should be disabled for WebDAV Initial Comment: Tested with eXist 1.5 build 15314. When editing XML documents directly "in" the eXist db using oXygen's Data Source Explorer, a problem arises with XInclude. "Opening" an XML document in this context constitutes serializing it, and when it's serialized, XIncludes are processed. The resulting document has all <xi:include> elements replaced with the XIncluded content, and when it's saved, the expanded content is written back to the database. This is obviously not the ideal behaviour. As Adam says, "WebDAV is meant to be a filesystem representation of the actual db state and not the processed state of the db", so XInclude processing should be disabled (or perhaps disable-able) for WebDAV connections.
