Dear Dannes (cc eXist-open), Thank you for the quick response and the explanations. I didn't mean to overemphasize the seriousness of the problems or, especially, to disparage the efforts and accomplishments of the developers. I do realize that the development effort is complex and that modifications in one place can easily break something temporarily elsewhere. Thanks again! Here goes: math-example and the four xar files. I've never seen red exclamation marks immediately after downloading from trunk before. If these are known problems and I just had the misfortune to catch the trunk at an unstable moment, please let me know and I'll try again later. Or is something else at work? Thank you for reporting these issues. I do not consider all items as serious 'problems' but just some 'rough' edges to to the massive amount of development that is being performed at this moment. I believe that trunk is pretty stable these days, Dmitiriy is working hard to get things working (sucessfully). In the front-end / UI things are not working, for use, like the cocoon stuff. about the xar files... these are the new extensions developed by Jim Fuller. It turns out that some checked-in files are rebuild each time, which is detected by svn. Nothing to worry about. about http://localhost:8080/exist/xquery/functions.xql .. there seems to be a style sheet not applied on the docbook document. Need to check why....
