Wolfgang, What about if we have a simple IRC client as part of the build, similar to the Twitter client. Then everybody who opens his local eXist page at http:/localhost/8080/exist/index.xml <http://0.0.31.144/exist/index.xml> will be able to read and post to the eXist channel. I guess there are some simple JAVA implementation of IRC clients available that can be added as a eXist module.
